It’s that time of year again. Usually reserved for excess 2018’s festive season seems to scream less is more. This year definitely saw the rise of minimalism & a wave of social consciousness for the planet, wildlife, people, politics & many other things in life we may have beforehand taken for granted as just being so. It feels like were are in the midst of palpable change, a change of consciousness in regards to our place in this life & swapping overeating and drinking for smaller portions of a better quality or more a ecological choice is just one of them. We are also seeing less commercial consumerism. Not so quick to buy a cheap pair of socks or a random item made from an un-disposable plastic, we now look to purchase gifts that have personal or symbolic meaning; if we buy gifts at all. The high street feels it & while many shops were barren places like Liberty & John Lewis were as busy as ever.
Season’s Greetings
But the idea of community still dominates during this time. People gather to avoid being alone perhaps not in large groups or even your own family, but maybe with people who share your energy & mindset. Either way it feels important to make or restore connections. It is the one time that just about everyone is free on the same day so make time, have patience & try to see the world & the people around you with kindness & compassion. Have a wonderful Christmas with love from The Nocturnes.
